Sharing Session PERSONAL BRANDING: DESIGN TO DESIGN OF DESIGNER
The Product Design Master’s Program FSRD Trisakti University held a Sharing Session on Personal Branding: Design to Design of Designer, on Saturday, September 4, 2021, online via Zoom Meeting. The event was opened by the report of the chief executive, Head of the Product Design Masters Study Program, Dr. Cama Juli Rianingrum, M.Si and remarks from the Dean of the FSRD, Dr. Sangayu Ketut Laksemi Nilotama, M.Ds. and was attended by the leaders of the Trisakti University FSRD, lecturers and S2 and S1 students, as well as the general public.
This event was initiated by the Research and Community Service Council of FSRD Usakti, aiming to share knowledge about branding and add insight related to personal branding, especially to lecturers and students of FSRD Trisakti University. As a speaker is Dr. Agung Eko Budiwaspada (Lecturer on Social Campaigns at Master of Design ITB and Lecturer of Branding at Masters in Product Design of USAKTI) and Gilang Widya Kartika (PhD Candidate at Marketing, Lancaster university School of Management, UK).
The first speaker explained the position of designers who currently have to compete with competitors in the field of imaging and image concepts as an impression formed on the basis of knowledge, experience and understanding of the real reality. To form personal branding, designers need to pay attention to aspects of Visual, Communication, and Behavior. While the second speaker explained that personal branding needs to be built gradually and consistently. Designers need to have passion, to show “the authentic you” by utilizing all available media.
This event was moderated by Dr. R. Drajatno Widi Utomo, M.Si (Lecturer of Product Design Master Study Program) and as MC by Annisa Shafayra (Product Design Master Study Program Student). Various questions and responses from the participants took place actively until the end of the event. Hopefully this event will be useful for prospective designers and designers, especially from the Trisakti University FSRD and the general public to position themselves specifically as designers in the current competitive map of the creative industry.
